First Year College

First Year College students studying while enjoying the environment of Tucker Beach

 

FYC offers students the personal and academic support to choose the right major. 

• North Carolina State University established First Year College (FYC) in 1995.

• FYC is available to students who have not decided on a particular major.

• Students participate in opportunities for one-on-one academic and career advising.

• Special residence hall are available to First Year College students to promote community and learning.

• FYC students take specific courses but the rest of their schedule is similar to what other freshman are taking – math, English, science, etc.
