Undergraduate Conditional Admission
Admission to NC State is highly selective. If you meet the competitive academic requirements for undergraduate admission but do not meet the minimum English proficiency requirements, NC State offers an Intensive English Program (IEP) to improve English skills before starting a degree program. Students who enroll in the IEP will be tested for the appropriate level of English training when they arrive on campus. IEP is a full-time course of study, with classes held on the campus.
Applicants need to have the following to be offered undergraduate conditional admission:
• Meet competitive academic requirements for undergraduate admission
• TOEFL iBT score of 70 (PBT 523) or an IELTS score of 6.5
• Be an international student residing outside of the United States (US)
Students who are offered conditional admission from the North Carolina State University Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be enrolled in a degree program after they have successfully completed IEP Level 6 with a grade of 'B' or higher and have met all other exit criteria.
